Industrial Visit was conducted for the 5th semester students of Mechanical Engineering Department and 3rd semester students of Instrumentation and Control by Government Polytechnic College Kathua to Ranjit Sagar Dam, Shahpur Kandi Punjab. Er Narinder pal Singh, AEE Mechanical took the students to the different sections of the hydro power plant and gave detailed information about the turbines, its application. Er Project Manager briefed the budding engineers on the working of various installed machines, generators, conveyers, hoist and chains used to lift heavy machinery.

The students got exposure and the first hand information regarding the working of Hydr Power Projects in real time. The students were also taken to the sight seeing places and beautiful scenic spots around the dam.

The students of 3rd semester Mechanical Engineering visited the Science Express Train at The samba Railway Station. The students was apprised about the Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the faculty members to conduct such industrial visit for overall development of the students and asserted that such kind of industrial visits are very informative and exhaustive in nature and provides maximum technical exposures to the polytechnic students making them more compatible with today’s industrial requirement.

The students were accompanied by faculty members Er Ajay Thapa, Er Sanam Gupta, and Er Rajinder Singh.
