Industrial Visit was conducted for the 3rd semester students of Mechanical Engineering Department by Government Polytechnic College Kathua to Kashmir Ispat Steel Rolling Mill and Sudpine Industry at Bari Brahamana Industrial area. The students were accompanied by faculty members Er Ajay Thapa and Er Sanam Gupta.

Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the faculty members to conduct such industrial visit for overall technical development of the students and asserted that such kind of industrial visits are very informative and exhaustive in nature and provides maximum technical exposures to the polytechnic students making them more compatible with today’s industrial requirement. At Kashmir Espat Steel Rolling mill Mr. Raman Gupta and Mr. Diwan Bansal gave detailed information to the students about the manufacturing of TMT Steel starting from the raw material. The students learned about Billet, Ingot and various Heat treatment processes. The students were also taken to the Quality control section and were apprised about the various Testing machines used to check the strength of the steel. Later, Students also visited the Sudpine Industry manufacturing the resins and paints. Sh Vinod Kumar briefed the budding engineers on the working of various installed machines, Boilers, Mounting and its accessories. The students got exposure and the first hand information regarding the working of various mechanical machines.
